IAC is a dedicated freighter operator providing services to the domestic and regional cargo market. IAC brings together the core expertise of three of South Africa’s most trusted aviation partners with international standing – Safair, Comair and Express Air Services (EAS).
Safair (70% equity partner) a wholly owned subsidiary of the Imperial Group, is respected in the aviation industry for providing turnkey aviation solutions which includes vast experience in airfreight locally and internationally. Comair (30% equity partner) is known for its two commercial airlines brands, British Airways domestic and regional and low fares airline, kulula.com.
With its unparalleled service delivery levels of 99.75%, capacity to handle more than 100 flights a day and management of a substantial portion of South Africa’s daytime general, perishable and express cargo each year, the trust put in EAS was entrenched further when it became the cargo handling agent for South Africa’s most exciting charter service – IAC.
IAC has been founded on the capacity of these three companies to maintain a true alternative night service for the South African courier industry. As IAC is not reliant on carriers for freight space – having its own aircraft fleet – it achieves a greater level of schedule integrity to augment its all-round superior levels of service.
This night express airfreight service immediately positioned EAS to provide its clients with the service levels they have come to expect from its daytime operations at night as well between Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London and George.
And already the network capacity of EAS into Africa through dedicated offices and arrangements with other airlines and routes are being absorbed into providing a greater and more extensive regional service to the subcontinent for IAC. Given its powerful financial backing through the holding companies of its partners and EAS, IAC is already confidently competing in the charter sector into Africa and will be establishing dedicated regular airfreight services into African countries where demand dictates.
